In 1983, the Maricopa County Emergency Food Coordination Project brought together several food banks and governmental agencies responding to the economic downturn of the 80s, to make sure resources like community citrus were collected and distributed effectively. As collaboration brewed and missions were clarified, it was obvious that there was more we could do together to end hunger. Thus, the Arizona Food Bank Association was born in 1984, and in 2019, we became the Arizona Food Bank Network.

Today, with a proud Arizona orange in our logo to harken back to AzFBN’s roots in gleaning goodness to end hunger, we celebrate 40+ years of building and strengthening this network, as well as the statewide AzFBN programs that blossomed to make Arizona communities healthier for all.
