The Board of Directors of the Association of Arizona Food Banks (AAFB) is pleased to announce the election of Karliee Ramaley as Board Chair, effective July 1, 2011. Ramaley, who first joined AAFB’s board as an at-large member two years ago, will serve a one year term.
“We are very fortunate to have quality people assume leadership roles that further the work and help shape our organization for the future,” said Ginny Hildebrand, AAFB president and CEO. “We are pleased to announce Karilee Ramaley has been elected Board Chair for 2011-12. She joins retired school and hospital administrator Anne Bellan, who was newly elected as Vice Chair, and Jody Serey of Serey/Jones Publishers, Inc., who returns as Secretary/Treasurer.”
Ramaley replaces outgoing Board Chair Bill Carnegie, president and CEO of Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona, who served the maximum three terms as Board Chair. Carnegie remains on the AAFB Board as a food member representative.
Ramaley is a senior attorney for the Salt River Project Agricultural Improvement and Power District, advising them on regulatory compliance and policy development, environmental, health and safety, natural resources, power plant and transmission line siting, natural gas transportation, and tribal issues. She earned her BS, MS and JD from the University of Arizona, and knowing of the devastating results of hunger, has volunteered for many years for hunger-related causes before joining the AAFB Board.
