WAYMO is Delivering Food for Hungry Arizonans – and Matching Your Donations, Too!
Thank you for helping us surpass our goal of $10,000!
It’s a common sight in Phoenix – a WAYMO vehicle with gadgets on it cruising around the city’s streets. Have you ever wondered what all of that equipment does?
These are WAYMO’s autonomous driving vehicles, and the technology you see on them helps let the cars drive themselves (with a human driver at the wheel as well).
But even if you are familiar with this sight, you may not know about some other work WAYMO is doing, and this is work that helps people who are food insecure!
WAYMO has been using their autonomous driving semi-trucks to deliver tractor-trailer-sized loads of bread across the state between two of AzFBN’s member food banks – St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance based in Phoenix, and Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona (CFB) in Tucson. The program started in June 2022, and since then WAYMO’s autonomous semis have already transported 17,128 pounds of bread!
These monthly trips help get thousands of pounds of food to where CFB then distributes it to partner agencies across southern Arizona.
WAYMO isn’t stopping there when it comes to helping Arizonans in need. They are also matching your gifts in support our food insecure neighbors dollar for dollar, up to $10,000! Just click the donate button below, make your gift to AzFBN, and WAYMO will match it until we reach our $10,000 goal.
This amazing partnership will benefit so many Arizonans facing food insecurity. Look for updates in our email newsletter and on our Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram accounts.
Thank you for your partnership WAYMO!
