Step One: Find Out If You're Eligible for SNAP
Some questions to consider…
- How many people do you live with?
- Will you be sharing food with everyone?
- How many children are in your household?
- Are there people with disabilities or college students in your household?
Anyone you live with AND buy/make food with counts as a member of your household. This includes children under 22, elderly adults (60+), and those living with a disability.
Note that some people you live with may not count as household members: tenants renting a room, adult children (22+) who buy/make their own food.
Maximum Gross Monthly Income:
1 person: $1,696/month
2 people: $2,292/month
3 people: $2,888/month
4 people: $3,483/month
5 people: $4,079/month
6 people: $4,675/month
7 people: $5,271/month
8 people: $5,867/month
Each additional person: +$596/month
“Gross income” refers to money you make before taxes, deductions, or expenses are taken out.
If your gross income is above these levels for your household size, is it likely that you do not qualify for SNAP benefits.
