SEPTEMBER IS HUNGER ACTION MONTH
September is Hunger Action Month, where AAFB joins Feeding America, food banks, and anti-hunger advocates from around the country to take action to fight domestic hunger. Stay tuned for details on local events and ways you can get involved!

HUNGER IN AMERICA 2010 STUDY RELEASED
The fourth edition of the quadrennial study released by Feeding America reports that 888,100 unduplicated Arizonans--almost half of them children under the age of 18--received emergency food in 2009, an 85% increase over the previous study.

3/24: the U.S. Senate Agriculture Committee approved the Child Nutrition Reauthorization bill, a critical step toward ensuring more low-income children receive nutritious food. Your support is needed! Send an electronic letter to Arizona Senators John McCain and Jon Kyl, and Congressmen Raul Grijalva and Ed Pastor. Whether you live in their districts or not, they need to hear from you on this critical issue!
